AidaIDE 1.0.0-rc20 - Release Notes
This candidate brings together desktop and local browser improvements since rc19. There is no pricing or licensing change. Tools keep their existing permissions, licensing and device requirements.
AI Command Center
- The main AI toolbar button opens AI Command Center. The legacy AI sidebar is hidden by default; an explicitly saved visibility preference still applies.
- Message entry and run controls stay visible when the window is resized. Dense circuit diagrams scroll horizontally to keep labels and nodes readable.
- Circuit activity follows remaining work and clears when the run finishes, while failures keep their status.
Production and device deployment
- The new Production tab helps build, version, release and deploy your programs, with saved artifacts and deployment results.
- Python and Rust version discovery handles Windows line endings. Release creation retries brief Windows directory locks while retaining overwrite and failure checks.
- Linux server and droplet tools include SSH snapshots, guided setup, reviewed release bundles, configured systemd logs and reviewed restarts.
- Deploy Lite requires explicit device permission and a current hardware check. Discovery and old device records do not grant installation permission.
- SSH public-key setup and key management are available for device connections.
Desktop workflows in the browser
The local web interface uses more of the desktop's shared stores and engines: database administration, project templates, cameras, interactive terminals, protocol tools, diagnostics, security scans, backup and recovery, training, model workflows, settings and Extension Studio.
IC and SoC authoring includes shared catalogs, graph transactions, private clipboard and history, saved workspaces, reviewed layout and debugger controls. Long-running browser operations track their owning session, worker results and cleanup.
Fleet, mapping and remote access
- Fleet Map includes terrain and line-of-sight tools, RF coverage and address serviceability, mast heights, canopy data and offline map areas. Fleet cards and device panes have layout and rendering improvements.
- The terminal supports richer colors, full-screen programs and keyboard input.
- PC-side Cloud Portal changes follow the actual web-server port, preserve browser origin and isolate PC sessions, with improved tunnel recovery and remote-viewer disconnect handling.
- PC-side support for shared access codes and roles is included. Portal server deployment and the companion Android release remain separate.
Authoring and startup
- AidaHL authoring includes named functions and a portable starter. Builder practice, saved designs and the Detailer workflow have been expanded.
- Workbench starts with a traditional arrangement and supports saved native workspaces and optional panels.
- Startup defers more imports and background work. GPIO diagrams load their shared constants before the renderer, fixing a circular import found during packaging.
- The web server honors
AIDAIDE_WEB_PORTeven when it differs from the saved desktop setting. - Browser changes simplify phone navigation, unify older tool pages and preserve live connected Wi-Fi PC survey maps.
What was checked
Targeted acceptance covered the installed Windows executable and the Linux archive on Ubuntu 24.04 under WSL2: installation and upgrade, database drivers, installed workers, retained Linux settings, native UI flows and authenticated browser pages. Linux GUI tests ran under Xvfb.
Follow-up checks passed for OTA update and rollback against disposable SSH targets, Fleet registration and staged rollout, Portal sessions, licensing and AI handling. The installed Linux AI client also completed small live requests through the configured Anthropic and Google providers.
These checks do not certify every feature, physical hardware, ARM or Jetson hosts, live paid Fleet actions, Cloud Portal reconnection, or every AI workflow. Windows remains the primary supported path; Linux remains experimental. No macOS artifact is included.
Candidate artifact integrity
These hashes identify the local artifacts used for installed acceptance. Signing or rebuilding changes the Windows artifact and requires a new recorded hash before publication.
